Carlisle, John Estate Settlement Book 19, pages 295-316

Adm. Isaac S. Folmer and Jesse Carlisle, appointed on Dec. 28,1852. Singing bonds as sureties were Andrew P. Love and William Love. ( The Deceased had written his address as Hallsville, Alabama). Heirs: Gracy Caroline[nee Carnley] Carlisle widow, and 11 children, viz, Jesse S. Carlisle, full age, Robert Carlisle, full age, Nancy Carlisle, full age, Samuel Carlisle, full age, and John W, Polly Ann, Edward, Zephaniah S., Needham, Barney, Sarah Jane, Mary Ann and Lewis E. Carlisle all minors. Jesse Carlisle was guardian of John W. and Edward.
Inventory & appraisement of property of the estate was made on Dec. 31,1852 by James Folmar, Jacob Sims and Angus McCormack. Property included 160 acres of land, 2 horses, and a colt, 1 yoke of oxen, 1 wagon, meat and stock hogs, 14 head of cattle, 6 head of sheep, cotton, corn, fodder, farm tools, 2 spinning wheels and loom. The deceased had notes and accounts on several people, including Samuel Carlisle, James Carlisle, Robert Carlisle, George Washington Thomas, Eli Carlisle, Jacob Sims, Angus McCormick and Jesse Carlisle.
Personal property of the estate was sold by the administrators on Jan 5 1853. Purchasers included Gracy Caroline Carlisle, Jeremiah Carnley, John Morrison, John Stringer, Abraham Folmar, Jesse Carlisle, Isaac Bell, Isaac S. Folmar, Jonathan Wood, John Butler, John Stevens, Samuel Carlisle and Samuel
Golden.
The administrators petitioned the Court to sell the real estate for equitable distribution among the heirs and deposition given on Oct. 24, 1853, Austin P. Dukes
