General Notes: William Reed, born in 1824, was the husband of Margaret Yarborough and father of four children including Thomas William Reed. All historical records we have found indicate William was born in Kentucky, although some descendants believed he was from Tennessee. Perhaps he moved from Kentucky to Tennessee at an early age.

We had recorded his name as Thomas William Reed based on information passed down, but the historical records we have found indicate that his name was William Reed, so we have now changed it . He was living in Brazos County, Texas by 1860, and we believe that we located him in Leon County, Texas in 1850. Family lore indicates that he ran away from home at the age of nine, passing through Alabama and ending up in Texas. This would have been during the initial anglo settlement of Texas along the Brazos River, led by Stephen F. Austin

Mildred's brothers were Irvin, Lawrence, Oscar, Bill and Wayne. She married Olen Raleigh (Bill) Sanderlin on March 20, 1943. Together they raised their three daughters in Melrose Baptist Church in Houston. Bill preceded her in death in 1970. Mildred will be missed by her daughters and their husbands: Linda and Ted Dement, Fran and Charles Smith and Barbara Peterman; four grandchildren: Will and Susan Peterman, Teddy and Amy Dement, Chris and Amelia Dement and Kevin Dement; and five great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Teddy Dement, Aidan, Emerson and Ivy Dement.

In MIldred's generation she is survived by her brother Bill Reed and by Vera, the wife of her brother Charles Wayne Reed.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, October 17, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2:30 p.m., at Earthman Resthaven Chapel. Followed by a committal service in Resthaven Cemetery.
