She was born Nov. 3, 1896 in Grayson county, Virginia to James and Victoria (Boyer) Austin. At the age of nine she moved with her family to the Battle Creek area. She was married on Feb. 24, 1917 to John H. Busteed at Stanton. He died May 4, 1969. She was survived by 2 sons: John J. at Madison, Louis at Columbus, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren.
