• Obituary. UKIAH Jane Landram Carter, 79, of Ukiah, died Friday, September 2, 2005, at Ukiah Valley Medical Center. She had resided in Ukiah since the early 1950s.

Jane was born March 31, 1926 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, the daughter of Silas Green Landram and Harriet Newman Landram. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ukiah. She was preceded in death by seven sisters: Ethel Williams in 1981, Lottie Carver in 1983, Emma Landram in 1983, Pauline Carver in 1995, Eunice Gant in 1988, Virginia Alderson in 1989 and Ruth Sumner in 2003, and one brother, Guy Landram in 1974.

Jane is survived by three sons: Richard (Judy) Carter of Ukiah, John Carter of Napa, Howard Carter of Ukiah, and two grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Carter) of Los Osos, California and Jill Carter of Ukiah.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Jane's life will be held at the First Baptist Church in Ukiah on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 7:00pm in the sanctuary. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer donations to the First Baptist Church of Ukiah.
