bullet  Noted events in his life were:

• Fact 1. The first mention of James Taylor White is in Orange Co., VA Will book 1. on 24 Feb. 1742. James Taylor White and William White made bond for Rebecca Chissum to administratix of John Chissum. The William White mentioned in this document would probably J. T. White's brother, if our assumptions are correct on the birth dates, William of J. T. would only be about 12 years old. Even if his son William were of legal age he probably would not be enlisted as an administrator of the estate at a young age. [Gifford White]

1745, Jan 23 - James Taylor White and James White were appointed overseers over the road gang "from Hazle River upwards to the Great Mountains". James Taylor White was by this time already considered a "former overseer." The James White listed here is not identified but is not his son, he would have been too young. [Court Order Book 4, Orange County, VA]

1746-47 , July 24 - William White is released on his "good behavior" for one year to James Taylor White for the stabbing of John Chissum. [Book 4a, 1746-47, p 1]
On this same day William White is made administrator of the estate fo Rebecca Chissum. deceased. She is probably a relative, perhaps a sister of James and William. [Book 4a, 1746-47, p 1]

1749- "Lord Fairfax to James Taylor White of the County of Culpeper...land in the Gourd Vine Fork in the said county ... corner of a former survey of said White's ...corner Joseph Collins... 220 acres... 8 Oct 1750".
[Book G, Northern Neck Grants, Virginia State Archives]

1757- Land grants were given by the colonial governments to family members in Craven Co., South Carolina, an old but extinct county with it records in many places. Sometimes records of the PeeDee River area can be found in conjunction with St David's Parish. [Land grant records are in the Archives at Columbia, South Carolina]

29 March 1757 "To James Taylor White, 300 acres in the Welch Tract, Craven Co., pursuant to an order dated 1 March 1757" [Pre-Revolutionary Plats, vol. 6, pp 256]
14 Jan. 1758. "To James Taylor White, 300 acres in the Welch Tract, Craven Co., [Memorial Book No. 7, p 163]

1760, - The Records of the Cashaway Baptist Church show that On "Sat 25 Oct 1760 ... Mr. James White for excess drinking be suspended from this church until satisfaction be given..
20 June 1767 .. on Cashaway Neck on Pee Dee in Craven County. The names of all the members... Elizabeth White .. gone." [Cashaway Batpist Curch Record Book 1756-1778]
