• Obituary: Beaumont Enterprise, 11 Dec 2005, Jefferson CO, TX. Lillie Mae Barrow Andres, 84, of High Island, Texas passed away Thursday, December 8, 2005 at Memorial Hermann Baptist in Beaumont. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., in First Baptist Church of High Island under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with burial in High Island Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, December 10, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary and beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2005 at the church. Lillie Andres was born in High Island, Texas to Frankie and Ivy Barrow on January 22, 1921. Lillie will be remembered as a beloved wife and loving mother. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing holiday feast for the family. She was a commercial fisherman of twenty-seven years, with loving husband that evolved into an entrepreneurship. Lillie was best known for her award winning stuffed crabs and gumbo in which she was the originator of her own secret recipes. She was preceded in death by her husband Jo Jo Andres of sixty-six years; parents, Frankie and Ivy Barrow; and brother Eugen Barrow. Lillie is survived by her children, Joe Andres and his wife Hedy, Johnny Andres and his wife Carolyn, Tommy Andres and his wife Angie, and Barbara Andres all of High Island; Rommy Andres and his wife Sherry of Port Acres and Connie Rooney and her husband John of Boerne; brother, James Barrow of High Island; sisters, Bertha Hoffpauir of New Caney and Mildred Fountain of High Island; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Hermann Memorial Baptist ICU nursing, faculty and staff for their loving care.

Lillie married Joseph Andres, son of John Presley Andres and Kate Sullivan. (Joseph Andres was born on 21 Aug 1917 in Galveston CO, TX ² and died on 9 Aug 2004 in Jefferson CO, TX ².)
