Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004 at the First Baptist church of High Island, under the direction of Broussard's, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie with burial in High Island Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be this evening from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Baptist church in High Island. Jo Andres, who is better known as Jo Jo, was born on August 21, 1917 in Galveston, Tx, to John Presley and Kate Sullivan Andres. Jo Jo, one of four children, was raised on a ranch in McFaddin, Tx. He rode bulls and saddle broncs for many years and was a member of the Cowboy's Turtle Association (RCA),now as the Pro Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA). He is preceded in death by his mother and father John Presley and Kate Sullivan Andres, two sisters and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Lillie Mae Andres of High Island; sons, Joe Andres and wife Hedy of High Island, Johnny Andres and wife Carolyn of High Island, Tommy Andres and wife Angie of High Island and Ronny Andres and wife Sherry of Port Acres; daughters, Barbara Andres of High Island and Connie Rooney and husband John of Boerne; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren
