Mrs. Lutie Huffman Jones, 80, of Rt. 3, Bluefield, died Thursday at the home of a daughter in Narrows, Va., following a long illness.
Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Candis Jones Huffman and was also preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Jones.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Melvin of Narrows, Va., Mrs. Mary Thorn of Bluefield and Mrs. Helen Griffith of Galisburg, Ill.; four sons, Ambrose Jones and James Jones, both of Bluefield, Tom Jones of Maryland, and Grover Jones of Arizona; three sisters, Mrs. Nannie Jackson of Boomer, N.C., Mrs. Dossie Pollard and Mrs. Goldie W. Gaultney, both of Jefferson, N.C.; 28 grandchildren and 36 great grand-children.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Glen Lyn, Va., Christian Church with Rev. Leonard Repass and Rev. Jerry Headen officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
Friends may call at Riffe's Funeral Home in Narrows after 2 p.m. today.
