• Obituary: Citizen Tribune, 23 Oct 2005, Morristown, Hamblen CO, TN. ARNOLD, MURIEL LOYCE RHUDY, born Dec. 26, 1916 in Comers Rock, Va., died Oct. 20, 2005. She had been a resident of the Heritage Center Nursing Home, lovingly cared for by Diana Freeman and the staff on Unit 2. She was the daughter of the late Clay and Madge Williams Rhudy of Comers Rock, Va. She received her Associate Arts degree from Radford College at 16 and taught school until her marriage. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 67 years, John W. Arnold. Survived by her daughter, Sarah Arnold Gose and Jim of Morristown; granddaughter, Joan Gose Trolinger and Jim of Madison, Ala.; grandson, Jay Gose and Linda of Knoxville; great-grandsons, Jimmy and David Gose of Knoxville; brother, Ralph Rhudy and Johnnie of Scotia, N.Y.; nieces, Jean Steusloff and Tom of Atlanta, Ga. and Barbara Sammond and Christopher of Rhinecliff, N.Y.; nephews, Steve Rhudy and Jane of Raleigh, N.C. and Tim Rhudy of Cleveland, Ohio. She was an avid bridge player and golfer, and she played organ at All Saints Episcopal Church for 25 years. She ran the ladies ready-to-wear department of Arnold?s Store for many years and was co-owner, with her late husband, of Arnold Oil Company. She was a member of The American Guild of Organists, the League of Women Voters and GFWC Somo Sala Circle. After retiring, she and John lived 12 winters in Guadalajara, Mexico and 17 winters in Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., and they traveled to all corners of the world, often accompanied by their close friends, Howard and Elizabeth Perry. A celebration of her life will take place at All Saints Episcopal Church 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28; her ashes will be interred in the Columbarium at the end of the service. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the All Saints Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to All Saints Episcopal School, 3275 Maple Valley Rd., Morristown, TN 37814 or the Morristown Emergency Rescue Squad, 420 N. Jackson St., Morristown, TN 37814 will be appreciated. Arrangements by Stetzer Funeral Home in Morristown
