Missing in Action
They completed about 19 missions before their last one on 23 April 1944; they had a photograph taken of the crew in front of the plane that morning. The last mission was to bomb a German air base (air drome) at Bad-Vaslau near Vienna, Austria. They were shot down and crashed near Gyor, Hungary.
