• Obituary. ² Lelia Ellen Roberts Saunders, 92, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center. Lelia Saunders was born June 17, 1912 in Grayson County, Virginia in the Flat Ridge Community, to the late Tom and Laura Carrico Roberts. She lived, for several years, in Marion, Virginia, and later moved to her home on Magnolia Drive in Bristol, Virginia. Mrs. Saunders had resided in the Bristol area for the past 19 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Saunders, sister, Virgie Hicks, and brothers, Sam Roberts, Lewis Roberts, and Stuart Roberts. Survivors Include:Three sons: Clarence Saunders and wife Joyce of Bristol, VA; Terence Saunders of Venton, VA; and Arnold Saunders and wife Kathy of Bristol, VA; Brother: Ellis Roberts of Bristol, VA; Grandchildren: Arnie Saunders, Teresa Bell, Michelle & Paul Humphreys, Gregory and Rhonda Fields, Steven, Donna, Roger, and Kenny Saunders, Debbie Haupt, David, Willie, Jimmy, and Bobby Saunders Twenty-Five great-grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildrenThe Funeral Service for Mrs. Lelia Ellen Roberts Saunders will be held at 12:30p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2004 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Henard officiating. Entombment and committal services will be held, also on Wednesday, at 2:30p.m. in Rural Retreat, Virginia, at the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 until 8p.m. on Tuesday night at the funeral home.Honorary Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mrs. Saunders. Arrangements by Weaver Funeral Home
