• Obituary. Myrtle Katie Scruggs, 88, formerly of Conway, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2012. She had been a resident of Our Lady of Peace Assisted Living in Charlottesville, Virginia for the past six years.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, especially her niece, Rebecca Payne and her husband Mike of Leavenworth, Washington and Betty Joe Coyner and her husband, Leonard of Ruckersville, Virginia who provided care to her over the past six years.
Ms. Scruggs will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband, Thomas at a later date.
Contributions may be made in Katie's memory to Our Lady of Peace, 751 Hillsdale Drive, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
A memorial service will be conducted at Our Lady of Peace at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at Our Lady of Peace for their love and care of Ms. Katie and to Dr. Gregory Doull and staff for their care.
