Ruth was the youngest of ten children of Asa Willet Roark and Arzelia Melvina (Lewis) Roark. She was the sister of Vaughn Roark, Winford Roark, Raymond Roark, Alonz (Lon) Roark, Gertrude Higby, Ocie Gerlach, Pearl Forrey, Myrtle Belcher, and Grace Beaudreau; and the mother of two sons, David and Norman Book.
She was a member of the first Kuna Cave Riding Club, and was Snake River Stampede Rodeo Queen in 1948. Ruth attended school in Kuna, graduating from Kuna High School. The family later moved to Dry Creek in 1949 and then moved to Garden City, Idaho.
Ruth worked for Safeway Grocery Stores for many years as a meat wrapper. She then went into Real Estate until retirement. Ruth had a small trailer park built and managed it until she was unable.
Ruth is survived by her son, David Book; granddaughter, Angela (David) Oddonetto; and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Nicole Oddonetto, of Boise, Idaho.
Funeral services will be held at Summers Funeral Homes, 3629 E. Ustick Road, Meridian on Friday, March 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with burial at the Kuna Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. There will be a viewing on Thursday, March 1st from 4-6 p.m. at Summers Funeral Homes, Meridian.
