• Obituary: Victoria Advocate, 9 Mar 2009, Victoria CO, TX. ⁴ SCHULENBURG - Marie Kirk, 90, formerly of El Campo, was born March 20, 1918, to the late Fritz Hildebrandt and Alma Lantrip Hildebrandt. A devoted Christian wife to the late Jim Ferguson Kirk for 65 years, wonderful mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother enjoyed life in her own quiet way.
The Kirks lived "the country life" 36 years in Provident City and then moved to El Campo where they were members of Memorial Baptist Church for 22 years. They then moved to Schulenburg Villas Retirement Center and joined First Baptist Church there.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Waits-Boss and husband Gus of Tulsa, Okla.; sons, Barron Kirk and wife Juanita of Hallettsville, Rick Kirk and wife Maggie of The Woodlands; grandchildren, Kirk Waits and wife Terri, Cheryl Shoemake, Laura Zaruba and husband Doug, David Kirk and wife Vikki, Whitney Kirk, Brice Kirk, Taylor Kirk, Dana Dennis and husband Greg, Jimmy Kirk and wife Wendy, Debbie Coates and husband Nathan, Shelly Kirk, Dawn Rivera and husband Bobby, Darrin Kirk and wife Tina; 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; son, James Donald Kirk; six brothers and one sister.
Visitation at Wheeler Funeral Home in El Campo will begin Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral service at Wheeler Funeral Home Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Jim Lane officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories in El Campo.
