Mrs. Winnie Esther Parks, 75, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly a resident of Princeton, died in a Pensacola Hospital Wednesday night after a long illness.
She was a member of the Pensacola Church of God and had resided in Pensacola for three years, having moved there from Princeton.
She was born in Independence, Va. on July 20, 1901, the daughter of the late Elijah and Lillian Cornet Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin E. Parks, in 1955, and one son, Phillip Parks in 1972.
Surviving are one son, Martin E. Parks, Toledo, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Tunney, Pensacola, Fla.; two brothers, Neal Roberts, Elk Creek, Va. and B. W. Roberts, Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Mrs. Paul Anderson, Independence, Va.; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of God on Oliver Ave., Princeton, with Rev. James Wynes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluewell.
Pallbeaarers will be Eugene Watts, James Jones, Lon Gilmer, Arthur Simons, Clayton Riffe and Rev. Matthew Dale.
The body will remain at George W. Seaver Mortuary, where friends may call Sunday from 6-9 p.m., and will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
