• Obituary: The Benton Courier, 22 Dec 2007, Benton, Saline CO, AR. Willie Mae Craigen-Martin, 81, of Bryant died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Kenwood Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Fannett, Texas, were she spent most of her life surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Martin moved to Bryant were she has lived since 1985.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Craigen Sr.; her mother, Mary Ann Craigen; one son, Donald L. Nelson; and one sister, Merle Ellen Leger.
Survivors include five children, William C. Alexander of Arlington Texas, Louis Nelson Jr. and wife Lita of Port Neches, Texas, Deon Nelson of Nederland, Texas, Sheila F. Bernsen and husband Kelley of Beaumont, Texas, and Vanessa A. Anthony and husband Ronnie of Bryant; one sister, Bertha Leger and husband Tee of Beaumont, Texas; one sister, Eunice Craigen Sheets and husband Paul of Henderson Ky.; one brother, Roy Craigen Jr. and wife Peggy of Fannett, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland, Texas. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Family comments: The family would like to give special thanks to all of the wonderful people from Kenwood Nursing Home who took care of "Momma Mae" over the past several years. Your love anda kindness to her will never be forgotten. She has touched many lives throughout her journey. She was a wonderful person, loving mother and great friend to many. She will be greatly missed, but all should rejoice for now she has gone to be with our Lord.
Memorials may be given to Saline Memorial Hospice in Bryant.
