Robert Wilson Young, age 89, of Hindman, KY, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Knott County Nursing Home in Hindman, KY. Born in Hindman, KY he was the son of Lonzo "L.C." Young and Amanda Pigman Young. Wilson was a member of the Hindman 1st Baptist Church, World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and a retired merchant and owner of Hindman Ben Franklin 5 & 10 Store. He was preceded in death by his parents- Lonzo "L.C." and Amanda Pigman Young; Wife- Violet Alma Hays Young; Brothers- Shelby and Charles Young; Sister- Otis Y. Clemons; Son- Ronald Cecil Young. He is survived by 1 son- Robert C. "Bob" (Gail) Young of Hindman, KY; Daughter-in-law- Betty Miller of Hindman, KY; 1 Sister- Amnie Young of Louisville, KY; Grandchildren- Vicci F.Young (Jim) Hash, Ronald Vernon Young, Wesley F. (Joan) Young, Florence E. (Robert L.) Jackson and John Phillip Young; Great Grandchildren-

E. Bradley J. Thomas, Bria ViOcta L. Stacy, Elizabeth D. Cox and Robert Jacobs Jackson; A host of Nieces and Nephews also survive. Funeral services for Robert Wilson Young will be held 12:00 Noon Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Hindman Funeral Services Chapel. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Mike Caudill and Rev. Jim Watkins. Burial will follow in the John Wes Hays Cemetery at Hindman, KY with Military Graveside Rites by the Hindman Chapter of the DAV.

Robert married Violet Alma Hays, daughter of Augustus A. Hays and Ollie Pigman. (Violet Alma Hays was born on 29 Mar 1912 in Knott Co, KY ² ³ and died on 25 Jan 1979 in Perry Co., KY ² ⁴.)
