• Obituary. 3 Dorothy Helen Shepard Harrell, age 81, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Elizabethton, she was the daughter of the late Anderson and Rosa Lee Shepard. She worked with entertainment companies assisting with running rides. Mrs. Harrell was of the Baptist faith. She loved housekeeping, fishing, being outdoors and gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Laverne Harrell, two sisters and two brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, David Harrell, Elizabethton; a daughter, Linda Harrell, Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Kayla Clark, Brandy Nave and Brittany Nave; a grandson, Billy Nave; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Coleman, Telford and a brother John Shepard, Elizabethton.
A graveside service to honor the life of Dorothy Helen Shepard Harrell will be conducted at 1:45 P.M. Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Mountain Home National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday prior to the graveside service. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Dorothy married Hobert Lee Calhoun, son of Geter T. Calhoun and Lucindy Thomas, on 6 Jul 1953 in Carter Co., TN.1 2 (Hobert Lee Calhoun was born on 18 Oct 1931 in Avery Co, NC 3 4 5 and died on 27 Aug 2015 in Newport News (City), VA 3 5 6.)
Dorothy next married William Laverne Harrell on 12 Jul 1961 in Carter Co., TN.1 (William Laverne Harrell was born on 8 Sep 1939 3 7 and died on 29 Sep 2006 in Grant Co., NM 3 7.)
