• Obituary. Mrs. Sarah Louise Bland, 53, of 404 Maryland Ave., Bristol, Tenn., died Monday, Jan. 1, 1990, at her home.

She was a native of Washington, D.C., and lived in Silver Spring, Md., before moving to Bristol. She was a member of the Marvin Memorial United Methodist Church in Silver Spring and was a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Nursing, where she was active in the Beta Sigma Phi. She was employed as a registered nurse for more than 30 years.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen B. Cooper, Knightdale, N.C., and Amelia L. Bland, Abingdon; one brother, Daniel B. Lyons III, Queenstown, Md.; three grandchildren, Kathryn Marie Cooper, Benjamin H. Halsey and Joseph W. Beaty.

Farris Funeral Service is in charge.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Louise Bland will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Farris Funeral Service. Cremation will follow the service. Honorary pallbearers will be William M. Bland and Daniel B. Lyons III. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Farris Funeral Chapel.

Sarah married William Moxley Bland Sr., son of Glenn Cebert Bland and Sibbie Lenora Comer.¹ (William Moxley Bland Sr. was born on 14 Sep 1929 in Grayson Co, VA ² ³ ⁴ ⁵ and died on 24 Nov 1997 in Durham Co., NC ² ⁴ ⁵.)
