• Obituary: Houston Chronicle, 16 Oct 2008, Houston, Harris Co, TX. Mildred Reed Sanderlin was born 88 years ago to Katy and Will Reed in Bryan, Texas. She was their only daughter.

Mildred's brothers were Irvin, Lawrence, Oscar, Bill and Wayne. She married Olen Raleigh (Bill) Sanderlin on March 20, 1943. Together they raised their three daughters in Melrose Baptist Church in Houston. Bill preceded her in death in 1970. Mildred will be missed by her daughters and their husbands: Linda and Ted Dement, Fran and Charles Smith and Barbara Peterman; four grandchildren: Will and Susan Peterman, Teddy and Amy Dement, Chris and Amelia Dement and Kevin Dement; and five great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Teddy Dement, Aidan, Emerson and Ivy Dement.

In MIldred's generation she is survived by her brother Bill Reed and by Vera, the wife of her brother Charles Wayne Reed.

The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, October 17, 2008 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2:30 p.m., at Earthman Resthaven Chapel. Followed by a committal service in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mildred married Olen Raleigh Sanderlin, son of William Frank Sanderlin and Mattie Arrie Lassiter, on 20 Mar 1943 in Orange, Orange CO, TX.¹ (Olen Raleigh Sanderlin was born on 22 Apr 1906 in TX and died on 5 Feb 1970 in Houston, Harris Co, TX.)
