She was the widow of Vivian Cornett and was born Oct. 14, 1917, at Comers Rock, Va., the Stone's Chapel community to Joseph Friel and Della Jane Ward Barton.
Surviving: three sons and spouses, Milan and Esther Cornett of Palos Verdes, Calif., Delmar and Betty Cornett and David and Lynne Cornett, all of Independence; two daughters and spouses, Wava and Kenneth Osborne of Marion and Anna and Larry Bishop of Cynthiana, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, April 11, at 8 p.m. in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Osborne and Rev. Joe M. Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 8 p.m., prior to the service. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Sixteen Acre Field Cemetery, Elk Creek, Va.

The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Cornett at 1218 Elliott Place, Independence, where friends may call at any time.
