1923-2008

Liz Weldon passed away on Oct. 21, 2008 at her home in Wimberley.

Liz was born Oct. 3, 1923 in Carrizo Springs. She later moved with her family to San Marcos, where she graduated from San Marcos High School in 1941 and then Southwest Texas University as a teacher.

Liz was the daughter of Wade and Eula Shaw. Her siblings included Wade Shaw (deceased), Milton Shaw of Seguin, Cora Bettge of Lockhart, Gussie Kingsley (deceased) and Mildred (Mike) Fredrickson of Hitchcock.

Liz married Bob Weldon from San Marcos in 1947. Bob preceded her in death in 1986. Liz and Bob had four children, Sharon, David, Linda and Carl. Sharon's husband is Rollie Miller of Wimberley and Carl's wife is Pam Weldon of Wimberley. David and Linda preceded Liz in death. Linda's husband was Calvin Ledbetter. Liz has nine grandchildren. They and their spouses are Rollie and Alicia Miller, Tarrie and Paul Richmond, Eva and Gabe Karshens, Robert Miller, Glen and Tanya DeLeon, Cheri and Charles Rankin, David and Rachel Ledbetter, Juston Weldon and Jacob Weldon. Liz also has 11 great-grandchildren.

Liz was a loving and caring person and a wonderful mother. She will be missed very much by her family and many friends. She was active in several community organizations. She loved to travel, and spend time with her family.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Chapel at the San Marcos Cemetery.
