He was 67. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Michael Mast officiating. Burial was in the Hemmeline Cemetery. Born Oct. 6, 1911, in Gatesville, Mrs. Morton was the daughter of the late M.T. and Dora Turney and was reared in the Arnett community. She was married to James Robert Morton in 1943, and they made their home in Dumas. Mrs. Morton returned to Gatesville in 1953 and lived here until 1970, when she moved to Waco. She was an employee of the Beverly Manor Nursing Home there until retiring in 1971. Mrs. Morton was a member of the Arnett Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Dianne) Seyler of Hewitt; two sisters, Mrs. Almeda Fisher of Gatesville and Mrs. Floy Godwin of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren, Randy Seyler, Markie Seyler, Mitzi Seyler and Kendra Seyler. Pallbearers for Mrs. Morton's funeral were Ray Edmondson, Lloyd Logan, Lloyd Cooper, LeRoy Cooper, Freddy Cooper and Grover (Heavy) Wittie.
