ASHLAND, Ky. - Services for Dewey Sizemore, 82, of Ashland, Ky., who died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, at his residence, will be 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ with the Rev. Ike Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park under the direction of Steen Funeral Homes of Ashland, Ky. Military services will be by Ironton VFW Post No. 8850 at the cemetery following the funeral. Visitation is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Mr. Sizemore was born Jan. 23, 1922, in Perry County, Ky., the son of Dolph and Annie Cornett Sizemore. He was a retired account payroll supervisor for Kentucky Power. He was an Army World War II veteran. He was a very active member of First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, American Legion Post No. 76, life member of Infantry Division Association No. 94, decorated veteran Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and a graduate of University of Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Peel Sizemore; his parents; two brothers, Elmer Sizemore and Bernice Sizemore; and sister, Margaret Howard . Survivors include a son, Dr. Robert C. (Kathy) Sizemore of Natchez; brother, Delbert Sizemore of Lexington, Ky.; four sisters, Beulah Williams of Middletown, Ohio, Lelia Byrd and Irene Peters, both of Hazard, Ky., and Florence Langley of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Robert Carlen Sizemore Jr. of Natchez and Katherine P. Sizemore of Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, 1930 Winchester Ave., Ashland, KY 41101.
