Born Nov. 14, 1929, in Kentucky, Bea moved to Richmond as a young woman.
She was the daughter of the late Mary Annie Jones and Edward Jones. Bea was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Weinberger and five siblings, Carl Jones, Marie Nickles, Geneva Jones, Havanna Turrell, and Glenn Jones.
Bea leaves to cherish her mem-ory, her daughter, Sandra W. Short and her husband, Bob, of Char-lottesville; her granddaughter, Melanie A. Gutierrez and her hus-band, Guillermo, of Coral Gables, Fla.; and the latest love of her life, her great-grandson, Nicolas V.T. Gutierrez.
Bea is survived by her siblings: French B. Jones and his wife, Mary Ann, of Oak Grove, La., Silas Jones and his wife, Margaret, of St. Cloud, Fla., N. Faye Wills and her husband, Tom, of Mechanicsville, M. Ray Jones and his wife, Helen, of Hara-han, La., T. Lois Johnson, of St. Joseph, Mich., and Gwendolyn Grubbs and her husband, Charles, of Lakeland, Fla. Her numerous nieces and nephews will treasure the fact that she remembered them all and they were not far from her thoughts over the years.
Bea was fortunate to be one of 12 children and her relationship with her brothers and sisters has always been a tremendous source of strength and love during her lifetime. They are more than siblings, they are best friends.
Bea was an avid reader and traveler, but her passion was her family.
She retired from Thalhimers De-partment Store in 1992.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Charlottesville at Hill & Wood Fu-neral Home Chapel with interment at Monticello Memorial Gardens with the Rev. W. Ramsey Richardson officiating.
