AS TO PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACT, I DID NOT SEE HIM WHERE HE ENLISTED FOR ARMY SERVICE, NOT DURING THE WAR, BUT FROM GENERAL FAMILY HISTORY ACQUAINTANCE AND PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE I HAVE ALL REASONS TO BELIEVE AND DO BELIEVE THAT HE, THE SAID THOMAS A. DE HART, APPLICANT FOR PENSION, ENLISTED IN THE CONFEDERATE ARMY AT OR NEAR THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE WAR AND CONTINUED IN ITS SERVICE TILL THE CLOSE.
