• Obituary: the Harold Leader, 12 Mar 2004, Benton Co, AR. 7 Cleo Thornsberry Ritchie, 87, of Fayetteville died Wednesday, March 10, 2004, in her home in Fayetteville. Cleo Thornsberry Ritchie was born in 1917 in rural Madison County and raised on a farm in the Greasy Creek community near Combs. She was one of 10 children born to Ira and Sarah Thornsberry. Cleo married James Clyde Ritchie in 1939 and they had one son, Terrance "Terry" G. Ritchie. She retired from Veterans Hospital food service in 1982. She enjoyed gardening and canning, and worked at her hobbies of ceramics and quilting. For those who knew her, her gentle and caring nature was obvious.
She is preceded in death by six brothers, Herbert, Shirley, Henry, Shelby, Lloyd and Howard, and a sister, Iva.
She was a member of the Center Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son, Terry Ritchie and wife Terrye of Irving, Texas; two sisters, Dixie Wilson and husband Paul of Fayetteville, and Dean Joslin of Wenatchee, Wash.; a granddaughter, Lakey J. Roberts, and great-grandchildren Skyy and Ashlee Roberts, all of Garland, Texas; a stepgrandson, Richard Barker of Dallas; and a stepgranddaughter, Carrie Barker of Mesa, Ariz. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today in Moore?s Chapel in Fayetteville. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Moore?s Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in the Fairview Memorial Gardens.
