• Obituary: The New Journal, 21 Jul 2005, Mansfield, Richland CO, OH. 2 MONROEVILLE -- Charles E. Reed, 75, of 547 Monroe St. died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, in Elyria after a brief illness.
Born April 16, 1930, in Willard, he was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was employed at MTD, Willard for 38 years, retiring in 1993.

Charles was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroeville and the Knights of Columbus, St. John Newman Chapter No. 1117.
Surviving are son, Terry L. (Robin) Reed of Monroeville; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Johnson of Mansfield, Kyle Reed of Sandusky and Jenessa Reed of Monroeville; his mother, Dollie Reed of Greenwich; three sisters, Juanita Amburgy of Greenwich, Rita Faidley of Port Orange, Fla., and Sue Newman of Harrisonburg, Va.; five brothers, Ogil of Plymouth, Hershel of Inola, OK., Robert of Plymouth, Rephard of Centerburg, Eugene of Tiffin; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadette in 2003; and his father, Creed Reed.

Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Jump & Pfeil Funeral Home, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where Christian Wake services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday and the Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. Friday. A Christian Burial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 66 Chapel St., Monroeville, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth J. Lill. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroeville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
