Gay Wilson Kremer age 71 years and former resident of Hopwood died Wednesday evening March 30, 1949 at the home of his sister, Mrs. May Morris of Connellsville, Pa. Born in Hopwood, he was the son of the late John Frank and Annie E. Kremer. He was a retired contractor and a member of the Masonic Bodies of Wayland, Kentucky. Surviving are his widow, Jennie Reed Kremer of Hueysville, Kentucky and two sisters, Mrs May Morris of Connellsville and Mrs. Effie Carbin of Hopwood and one brother , Frank M. Kremer of Brownsville. Friends are being received at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Carbin on Furnace Road in Hopwood. Services will be conducted Saturday afternoon April 2 at2.30pm with Rev. J.H. Lamberton officiating. Internment will be in the Oak grove Cemetery. J. Harry and Johnston Funeral Directors.

• Fact 1. 3 Side note: Gay went by Bob with the Reed family (no one knows why) and was a plasterer in the Garrett, Kentucky area. He plastered most of the older homes on Garrett Hill in Garrett. After becoming sick he went home to visit his family where he died. Since Jenny could not pay for his funeral and to be brought back to Kentucky from Pa. His family buried him there close to his father and mother.

Gay may be a misprint by census workers back in the day.When he signed his WWI and WWII registration cards it is signed as Guy Kremer (not Gay) for WWII and Bob in WWI.. So who knows.
