Floyd Native Dies In Ohio; Rites Held Saturday at Lackey

Funeral rites for Cally Reed, 70 years old, former Floyd county man who died last Thursday at his home in Berlin Heights, Ohio., were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Freewill Baptist Church at Lackey. He was a victim of cancer.

Born and reared in the Hueysville section of the county, he was a son of Dillard and Malissa Sexton Reed. Before his removal to Ohio several years ago, he was a gas company employee. He was married twice - first, to Mary Huff, after whose death in 1938 he was married to Sarah Estep, who survives.

The following children of his first marriage survive: John Reed of Wayland, Virgil Reed of Elyria, O., Mrs. Branch Robertson of Lackey, Mrs. Birdie Clagett of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Ceredo Mullins of Clarksdale, Miss. Four brothers also survive: Creed, Worley and Sage Reed all of Plymouth, O., and Bill Reed of Willard, Ohio. He also leaves 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Officiating at his funeral were the Revs. Henry Mullins and Dillard Reed. Burial was made in the Wicker cemetery at Garrett under direction of the Hall Brothers Funeral Home.

Cally was also a twin to Romine Reed.
