• Fact 1. ¹ Douglas Reed is the son of Amos S. Reed and Permiellia Chaffin. He was born in Floyd County Virginia in Alum Ridge
He was one of six siblings. Sigler (Ziegler) the oldest, Charles (Dillard), Callihil (Teck), Amos (Lee), and Rosencrantz.

He married Jenny Gearheart in 1876. Together they had five children, Toby, Sidney, Cora, May and Glady's.

He was a Farmer and manager at a log camp in later years close to where he lived on Reed Branch near Hueysville, Kentucky.

Grave-site:
Douglas grave-site is in the upper section of the cemetery on the hill just inside the tree line with his wife Jenny Gearheart Reed. Four graves total but two have been said to have been moved according to Reed family members. They were not sure of where they went or if they were actually moved. The stones are still there.

Douglas and Jenny's are still there with home made headstones painted white.
