• Obituary: Amarillo Daily News/Amarillo Globe Times, 12 Dec 2007, Potter CO, TX. ¹ Jack Weems Jr., 81, of Amarillo died Friday, Dec. 7, 2007.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Jerry Thomas, pastor of North Beacon Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Weems was born Dec. 20, 1926, in Corsicana to Jack and Anna Belle Weems. He was a 45-year employee of Colorado Interstate Gas Co., having worked his way up from being a summer help ditch digger to being plant manager.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Margaret Lupello; and a daughter, Diana Lee Nelson.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Weems; a son, Jack "Buddy" Weems; two daughters, Patricia Thompson and Mary Weems; a brother, Tommy Joe Weems; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to North Beacon Church of the Nazarene, 1601 N. Nelson St., Amarillo, TX 79107.

Jack married Mary Lee Cornett, daughter of James Arthur Cornett and Ida Maud Wheeler.
