• Obituary: by the Pineville Funeral Home: Deschutes Co, OR. John "Jack" William Cornett, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2019, at St. Charles Hospital in Redmond, Oregon. Jack was 95 years of age. A short funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 25, 2019, in Prineville, Oregon at Prineville Funeral Home. Internment followed at Juniper Haven Cemetery in Prineville.Jack Cornett was born Sept. 13, 1923, in Prineville to John and Laurel Cornett, long time residents of Crook County Oregon. He attended Prineville schools and graduated from Prineville High School. Jack briefly attended Oregon State University.

He returned home to assist his father on the family ranch outside Prineville. Jack served in the Navy during World War II from March 1, 1944 to June 1, 1946 when he was honorably discharged.After returning from war, Jack worked for the Chevrolet garage in Prineville. He married Imogene Hurt August 10, 1947. In 1949 they moved to Raymond, Washington where Jack worked at the Nash dealership. Jack moved his family back to Prineville in 1953, working at the Chevrolet garage. Jack and Imogene moved to Pendleton, Oregon in 1959 where he worked for the Chevrolet dealership until 1972 when they moved to Bend, Oregon. Jack worked at St. Charles Hospital until he retired in 1987. Jack and Imogene moved to Redmond, Oregon in 1993.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Imogene Cornett of Redmond, son Richard (wife Susan) of Moses Lake, Washington, and daughter Debra of Redmond, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Gerald, Elgin & Everett; one sister, Eloise and daughter, Theresa.
