She graduated in 1929 from Sue Bennett Junior College in London, Ky. and attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis, before receiving her degree at Eastern Kentucky University.
A charter member of the Nazarene Church in London, she was Sunday school superintendent, adult class teacher, president of the Missionary Society and song leader.
Born Oct. 9, 1907 near Lick Fork Creek in Laurel County, she was 99 years, 4 months and 13 days old.
She married Ray T. Hale on July 7, 1936 in Clermont, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Hannah Alice (Cornett) Magee; brothers, Roy Magee, Clermont; Walter Magee, Rough Creek, Ky.; James Magee, Greenwood, Ind.; and Daniel Magee, Rough Creek; former husband Ray T. Hale, Ocklawaha, Fla.; children, Helen J. Hale, Somerset, Ky. and H. Ray Hale, Indianapolis; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is survived by one son, Bruce A. Hale and wife Linda, Roachdale, Ind.; grandchildren, Lia R. Hamilton and husband Rob, Ferdinand, Ind. and Amy R. Hale, Greencastle; great-grandchildren, Evan R. Hamilton, Nathan R. Hamilton, Ava M. Hamilton, and Sara R. Hamilton, all of Ferdinand Ind.; sisters-in-law Beulah Yaden and Dolly Magee, Indianapolis; nieces, Rosemary (Hale) Eckerty and husband Tom, Indianapolis; Anna L. Magee, Brownsburg, Ind.; Jean (Magee) Green and husband Don, Greenwood; Joyce D. Magee and Sharlene (Magee) Dezarn, London; nephews, Larry Hale and wife Lana, John D. Magee and wife Mary Ellen, Indianapolis; Kenneth Magee, Raymond Magee and wife Judy, Brownsburg, Ind.; Gil Thomas and wife Eileen, Fort Myers, Fla.; DeWayne, Tom, and Don Fritzinger, all of Nebraska.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, at House-Rawlings Funeral Home.
The memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, in the funeral home's chapel, with Rev. Delmer Gross officiating. Interment will be at Rough Creek Cemetery near London.
