Oscar Herman Reed Draft Card

Oscar Reed was Don's uncle, the brother of his father Henry Lawrence Reed. He was 25 years old and living in Houston, Texas when this draft card was signed.i He was employed by Henke Ice Company in Houston, and gave the name of his mother, Katie Laura Means Reed, as the person who would always know his address.

Oscar was six feet tall and weighed 153 pounds, with blue eyes, brown hair and a ruddy complexion. After this draft card was completed, Oscar joined the US Navy and served in the Pacific on the aircraft carrier USS Hornet.
