Henry Lawrence Reed Draft Card

Henry Lawrence Reed was Don's father. He was born in Bryan, Texas, and was 23 years old when he signed this draft card in Dayton, Texas. He was employed as a lineman for Southwestern Bell Telephone company, and was living in Dayton on October 15, 1940 when this draft card was completed. He met his future wife Etta Fingleman while living in Dayton, and they were married about seven months after this card was signed. He listed his father, Will Reed, as the person who would always know his address.

Henry was six feet one and one half inches tall, and weighed 175 pounds. He had hazel eyes, brown hair and a light complexion.
