Ham and Raisin Sauce

Ham slices that you purchase in the store are usually very briny, so put the slices in about 1/8" or so of water and cook to remove the brine for about 15 minutes or until water boils. Remove and put in pieces of foil and put into oven to finish cooking at 350° F.

Dissolve 2 tbls. cornstarch in 1/4 cup water and stir into water that ham has cooked in after you have added a handful of raisins or more to the water, and cooked for 5 minutes or so with 2 or 3 tbls. of brown sugar. After cornstarch has been added, the mixture will thicken. Turn off the fire after you have reached the desired thickness. Serve over ham slice.

Save your drippings when you bake a ham and thin down with water to make the sauce. Add your raisins and brown sugar, bring to a boil, thicken with cornstarch until you reach your desired thickness.
