Lamb Chops

Tried and true, we got this recipe from our Good Housekeeping Cookbook, vintage 1963. Like many classic recipes from this era, it uses Acćent (monosodium glutamate or MSG) as a flavor enhancer. Although MSG is known to be safe, some people still fear it. If you wish you can leave it out. I trust the lamb chops will still be delicious.

Heat the oven to 350°F. Rub each chop with the cut clove of garlic and sprinkle with salt, pepper and Acćent. In a small bowl, mix the cheese, Tabasco and Worcestershire with a fork. Coat the chops with the cheese mixture and stand them on the bone ends in a 10" x 6" x 2" baking dish. Pour the consommé into the dish.

Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes, basting occasionally with the consommé in the dish, until the chops are well done.
