Remarkable Fudge
This recipe was published in Better Homes and Gardens magazine in the late 1950's, titled "Remarkable Fudge". In that original recipe, the ingredient "pecans" was mis-spelled as "w-a-l-n-u-t-s", but for Texans, that's an easy error to correct.
This recipe was a holiday tradition in Don's family, and now we make it every year, at Thanksgiving and again at Christmas time.
Butter 11.5"x17" pan.
Combine in large pot:
- 4 cups sugar
- 1-12 oz can evaporated milk
- 2 sticks margarine
Cook to soft ball stage (235° F), stirring constantly.
Remove from the stove and stir in:
- 1-12 oz pkg Nestles semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1-7 oz jar Kraft marshmallow cream
- 1.5 tsp vanilla
- 1.25 cup chopped pecans
Pour into buttered pan. Cut when cool.
