Nanny's Tea Cakes

Mix thoroughly:

• 2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 cup butter or shortening
• 1/2 cup milk (buttermilk preferably)
• 1/2 tsp. soda (good 1/2)
• 1 heaping tsp. baking powder (none if using sweet milk)
• 1 tsp. salt if butter is not used

Add 3-5 cups flour to thicken mixture to roll.

Roll, cut, and cook at 425° F.
