Chocolate Chip Cookies

We make these cookies with bread flour instead of all-purpose flour. They come out plump and chewy, just the way we like them!

Preheat oven to 350° F.

Cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Dissolve the baking soda in the hot water. Add to the batter along with the salt. Stir in the flour, pecans and chocolate chips.

Drop by spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, 2 inches apart.

Bake for about 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until the edges are browned. Remove from the cookie sheet to cool on wire racks.
