Sour Cream Dressing for Slaw
(Helen Corbitt's Recipe)
- 1 cup sour cream
 
- 1 tbl. onion, grated
 
- 1/4 cup tarragon vinegar ( I use cider vinegar)
 
- 2 tbls. sugar
 
- 1/2 tsp. celery seed (I prefer celery salt)
 
- 1/8 tsp. white pepper
 
- 1-1/2 tsp. salt (less if you use celery salt)
 
- 1/2 cup whipping cream (or Pet or Carnation milk)
 
Mix all but the whipping cream in order given. After mixing with shredded cabbage, fold in the whipping cream or canned milk.  Helen Corbitt says this dressing is good for fruit salad or Waldorf salad too.
